The path of transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry in China is explored under the background of new industrial revolution. The status-quo of manufacturing industry in China is described, and the challenges and the opportunities brought by the new industrial revolution to the development of manufacturing industry in China are analyzed. The new threads of strategic transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry in China are proposed, i.e., taking the integration of informationization and industrialization as the landing zone, the investment of human capital is increased in manufacturing industry;the R&D is strengthened in the core technology;the public innovation service system of manufacturing industry is improved and the new policy support mechanism is built further;and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements is promoted.
