Research on the Bamboo Salt Well of Sichuan in the Song Dynasty

The bamboo salt well is a kind of drilling technique invented by well salt producers of Sichuan in the middle of ,the 11^th century. It is a great innovative technological invention for its tools, well structure, rock and brine exploitation, etc. This technique played an important historical role in deep well exploitation in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the invention of modern drilling technique. From the above, we can say that the invention of the bamboo salt well is of great importance to drilling science of China or even the world.
