| 摘 要： | 约瑟夫·奥尼尔的《地之国》被认为是近年来最出色的表现"9.11事件"后美国的作品之一,但字里行间表现出的后殖民主义特征才是其最引人瞩目之处。小说以回忆录的方式记叙了两个不同肤色、不同阶层的男人在美国的境遇和友谊。本文试图从后殖民主义理论出发,从移民的美国梦想、身份建构和文化认同几个方面阐释作品的深刻内涵,探索众多移民在西方文化中心论依旧盛行的今天,在全球化的时代获得物质和精神双重满足的途径。

| Abstract: | Joseph O’Neill’s Netherland has been regarded as one of the most brilliant post-"9·11" novels with its witty,vivid and intelligent narrative.The novel adopts a postcolonial perspective,leaving readers an extended and profound meditation on love,despair,loss and exile,with a focus on two men,who are of different races and classes,recollected their experience and friendship in USA.This paper attempts to penetrate into its essential themes through the American dream,the identity construction and the cultural recognition of the American immigrants with an insight into their accesses to both their material and mental fulfillment in the context where Eurocentrism and globalization still prevail. |
