文化混血的主题与戏讽的语言——对谭恩美《另类》的解读与重读

谭恩美的作品《喜福会》已成为华裔美国文学的经典,其中一个章节《另类》（Two Kinds）近年来被选入本科英语专业教材,产生了对经典的简约化、俗世化的误读。文章从对文类的认定、主题的诠释与语言特色的角度凸现了作品蕴涵的身份认同的后现代意义和文化政治内涵,赏析了关于中国/美国文化认同的人为虚构的两分特性和作品中人物体征的文化混血。

The Theme of Cultural Hybrid and Ironic Style——The Interpretation and Reinterpretation of Two Kinds by Amy Tan

Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan has become a literary classic in Chinese American literature. One chapter from the book, Two Kinds, is incorporated into the textbook of Advanced English for English majors （Bachelor of Arts）, which leads to a simplified and vulgarized misinterpretation to the masterpiece. In the present paper, a reinterpretation is conducted in terms of the clarification of the genre, the representation of the theme and its language style, thus highlighting the postmodern implications in identity construction and cultural politics. The artificial and invented binary nature of cultural identity in terms of Chinese/American cultures and the cultural hybrid as evident in the protagonist in the short story are analyzed and appreciated.
