Opening Doors Versus Monopoly: Growth in the Dual Economy of China

There always exists a kind of dual economy characterized by opened sectors and monopolized sectors in China since 1978 when China started up its economic reform. The monopolized sectors are increasingly becoming constraint to the capital pursuing profitable industries and forcing more and more enterprises to crowd into the inefficient manufacturing sectors, which is severely decreasing the growth rate of the whole China economy. Therefore, the administration should speed up the process of giving up the sovereignty of economy to open all those unnecessary monopolized industries to lure much private and foreign investment in order to sustain the growth rate.
