春秋时期传统礼治与法治思想的孕育

春秋上继西周、下启战国的过渡性质使其社会思想的表现极为复杂。春秋时期，不仅社会上涌动着以礼外交、以礼治国、以礼修身的传统礼治思潮，人们对传统礼治所表现出来的内部矛盾，即礼之实与礼之仪的相互脱节也发表了批判性意见。为实现“天下国家可得而正”的礼之实的政治目的，一些政治家甚至摒弃了虚而无用的礼之仪。在其政治实践中，已初步具备后世法家的法治萌芽。
