霍尔顿主体意识的现代主义与后现代主义特征

摘    要:20世纪50年代初是西方社会向后现代社会转变的开始,也是现代主义与后现代主义这2种相互对立的文化风格共存共融的时期。《麦田里的守望者》以主人公霍尔顿为第一人称叙述者,其察事观物的视角以及自我颠覆的叙述模式同时体现了他主体意识的现代主义与后现代主义特征。霍尔顿这种矛盾而多重的意识状态正是美国50年代初矛盾而多重的社会文化风格的现代隐喻。

Abstract:Early 1950s was the beginning for western society to transform into a post-modern one. It was thus featured by the inter- mingling co-existence of the two mutually-contradlctory ideologies modernism and post-modernism. Holden Caulfield, the first- person narrator in The Catcher in the Rye published in 1951, embraces both the modem and post-modem ways of thinking, which are reflected in his perspective of surroundings and his self-deconstmctive pattern of narration. Holden's contradictory and multifaceted mindset is thus a metaphor for the contradictory and multifaceted ideology of American society in the early 1950s.
