| Abstract: | Twelve symbolic animals are part of Chinese culture which functions as labels in classifying Chinese people bom in different years. Therefore, the figurative meanings of the twelve animals in Sino - Western cultures surely reflect the similarities and differences in the two cultures, and the discussions on their figurative meanings will enhance the awareness of similarities and differences for peoples in the two cultures. |
