| 摘 要： | 语言意识形态是人们的语言观以及对待语言变体或其他语言的态度,决定着一个国家的语言政策,是一种隐性的语言政策。美国从殖民地时期就确立了语言统一的思想意识,逐步演变成以英语为中心的单语主义。双语教育政策和唯英语教育本质上是一致的,都是以同化和排斥移民语言为主题的,是英语单语主义的表现。

| Abstract: | Language ideology determines people＇ s language orientation and their attitudes towards a language or a language variation. The dominant language ideology of a country decides the language policy of the country. It is a covert language policy. A language conformity ideology has been established in the United States since the colo- nial age, which has gradually evolved into an English-center monolingual doctrine. The bilingual education is in essence consistent with the English-only education, both taking assimilation and exclusion of immigrant languages as the theme, and they are a direct manifestation of English monolingualism. |
