Abstract： African Art in Transit is a great book which was written by Christopher B. Steiner. He is an American famous art anthropologist. The book is on African art especially on the West African art object. Stein described the complicated relationship around African art in transit and the capital penetration through the Art Object in detail. He questions the ＂authenticity ＂. In this book, we can know the westerner＇s cultural expectation and colonial memory to the Africa. From this book, we can also understand the identity conflict excited in Africa. In the transit, The Decontextualization of Art Object is achieved by the Mediation of knowledge. The ＂Art Objects＂ is changed to ＂Art＂ in the transit.
