“一”与“多”，人文奥运哲学基础——从古希腊奥林匹亚到北京

现代奥运新哲学的新，就在于它有一个扩大的“多”和一个新“一”。“多”：许多人，许多个体，许多国家，许多信仰，不同语言、不同文化。现代奥运这个“多”远比古奥运那个时代的“多”广大，更多远，更色彩斑斓。奥运已不仅仅是希腊人的奥运，而是全人类的奥运。“一”是人的一：不管什么民族，什么肤色，什么信仰，什么文化，都联系在一起。它是人自己的联系，自己的一，是来自人内在追求与他人联系的一，是色彩纷呈的一。这正是中国混沌精神的一，融合的一，和而不同的一。奥运会本身是个“一”（相融相通）的世界。这是“一”与“多”的辩证统一哲学。

"One" and "Many":the Philosophical Basis of Culture enriched Olympics——From Ancient Greek Olympia to Beijing

The newness of modern Olympics lies in its broadened "many" and new "one". "Many" means many people, many individuals, many countries and many beliefs as well as different colors, different languages and different cultures. This "many" in the modern sense is much broader and colorful than the one in the ancient sense. The Olympics do not belong to the Greek people only, but to the human race. "One" means people are linked to each other despite differences in nationality, skin color, belief and culture. It is the association and oneness of the people themselves, resulting from their inner pursuit of being in touch with others. It is a colorful oneness. It is the very notion of "one" embodied in Chinese chaotic spirit; the oneness of amalgamation, and of differences within the boundary of harmony. The Olympics are a world of "oneness" (which blends and links). This is the philosophy of "one" and "many" from a dialectical and identical perspective.
