Chen Jiongming and the 1911 Revolution

The activities in which Chen Jiongming was engaged during the 1911 Revolution reflect one aspect of the characteristics of the Revolution and sketched the image of a moderate progressive who was fighting in the rapids of the 1911 Revolution. These were embodied in the gradual progression in which Chen first sought for constitutional reform, then devoted himself to the democratic revolution, in his behavior in the Guangdong "March 29" Uprising, in the disarmament and evacuation of the civil army, and in the rapid failure of the second revolution in Guangdong.
