清末新学中“图画”课程的性质辨析

摘    要:
清末新学勃兴。在新学制课程中多设置有"图画"一项。今天的学者见之,不少将之误认为美术课程。其实不尽然。在特定的学制下,"图画"课程有着特定的内涵和功能,不能一概当成美术课程。准确理解"图画"有利于解读清末的相关史料,对于近代美术的历史研究具有重要意义。

Abstract:
Lots of modern schools were set up in late Qing Dynasty. There was a lesson named "Tuhua" in the schools. Today, a lot of researcheres consider the lesson named "Tuhua" to be the origin of artistic education in the schools in China. However, that is not the fact. Specific lesson has specific connotation and function in the specific educational system, it should not be treated as artistic education only. The precise understanding of the lesson helps to understand the relevant historical materials in late Qing Dynasty, which is significant to the historical researh of pre-modern art in China.
