| Abstract: | The survey of ELISE, European Language & International Strategy Development in SMEs, finds that language barriers can affect the development of enterprises. Based on the finding, the following three implications can be drawn for Chinese enterprises: the importance of languages under open economy, the diversity of languages used in international business, and the durability of language barriers. Therefore, Chinese enterprises are supposed to place strategic value on languages, examine the use of foreign languages, and conduct enterprise language planning. |
