| Abstract: | With China's entry into the WTO, the currently existing Chinese legislation needs updating in order to keep up with and to effectively regulate the changing Sino-foreign joint educational activities. This article proposes that legislation governing Sino-foreign joint educational activities adhere to the principle of educational sovereignty, that these activities be permitted by the Chinese legislature as profit-making and that upcoming legislative measures be taken in accordance with rules of General Agreement on Trade in Services. |
