| Abstract: | In this paper, the author has clarified the general connotation of "vivid momentum" which is the most outstanding feature in perspective of Chinese painting theory and art practice, and analyzed the differences between the criterion of aesthetic judgment for Chinese painting and the pattem of western painting. The necessary of considering the characteristic criterion of aesthetic judgment for Chinese painting once more and the cultural background and functions of such a criterion are also highlighted. |
