| Abstract: | Halliday's Systemic Metafunctional Grammar is one of the most influential linguistic theories in the world.The systems of transitivity and modalization provide a new perspective to analyze news discourses.Transitivity interprets that speakers or listeners can choose various processes to constitute or reveal semantics in the discourse,while modalization,which states speakers' judgment and evaluation,forms a key to understanding interpersonal relationship. |
