City Public Environmental Art and the Building of City Image

The construction for modernization in the 20th century has destroyed city public environmental art in lots of places, which makes cities loose their individual characters and distinguishing features. The 21st century is a new era focusing on man itself, in which people pursue a more delicate life and all round development. So developing city public environmental art will act as an important role in the establishment of a new style life. The thesis discusses the definition, scope, design and function of city public environmental art, and points out that in producing new city public environmental art people should attach importance to combining nationality with regionalism, as well as to combining historicity with timeliness. In addition, the thesis explores the relation between city public environmental art and the building of city image.
