On Anxiety of Oral English Language Learning for College Students in Minority Areas of West China and Relevant Solutions

Language anxiety has an impact on the improvement ofthe spoken English of the non- English major students in the colleges and universities. According to the survey, anxiety has influenced the oral English learning of students from the minority groups. The factors contribute to the students＇ anxiety in speaking English include shyness and being afraid of making mistake, cultural differences and lack of language environment. Only when students＇ confidences are built, teacher＇s role is changed and teaching mode improved, can students＇ anxiety in English speaking be eliminated and hence the oral English teaching be more effective.
