“五四”时期,中国社会正处于挽救民族危亡的关键时期,当时的青年人出于对国家和民族未来的强烈的责任意识,勇于承担起民族解放和独立的社会责任,推动了中国社会的发展.今天,中国社会正处于社会转型和民族伟大复兴的关键时期,当代青年人、特别是当代大学生,应谈将“五四”运动倡导的爱国、民主、科学、进步的“五四”精神内化为自身强烈的责任意识,并以责任意识为理念,勇于承担起时代赋予的历史使命和时代任务.

On the Relationship between ＂May 4th＂ Spirits and Responsibility Consciousness of Contemporary Undergraduates

＂May 4th Movement＂ was a critical time for China＇s society to save the nation in peril. At that time, young people had the courage to bear the social responsibilities of national liberation and independence with their strong responsibility consciousness on the future of the country and nation, pushing forward the development of China＇s society. Today, as China＇s society is in a key period of social transformation and great rejuvenation of the nation, modern youth, especially contemporary undergraduates, should turn ＂May 4th＂ Spirits, i.e. patriotism, democracy, science and progress, into their own strong responsibility consciousness, while bravely carrying on the historical mission and tasks of times with responsibility consciousness as their philosophy.
