旅英华人的维权意识和维权能力

人权问题一直是西方自我标榜并用以诟病中国的一个老话题。一些中国人也想当然地认为西方是民主、自由、平等的圣地，他们以各种形式进入英国，期望融入这个社会，但现实情况远不如想象的乐观，针对华人的侵权甚至是暴力犯罪案仍然时有发生，华人为争取基本人权进行着不懈的努力。旅英华人的人权状况在英国长期不被关注，他们主要靠一些非政府组织和华人社区提供帮助。一个国家强盛的意义，不仅包含其国内普通民众的生活水平、国民素质的提高，更体现在旅居海外的华人群体的自我保护意识和能力。一个国家在国际上的地位与个人命运是息息相关的，在文明和社会的生物链中，只有推动文化大发展、大繁荣，增强文化整体实力和竞争力，才能在国际上享有足够为自己辩护的话语权，才会真正赢得别人的尊重。

The Awareness and Capability to Defend Human Rights among Chinese Immigrants in Britain

Human rights have long been used to sing its ow n praises and criticize china by the west .Some chinese take it for granted that the west is the holy land for democracy ,freedom and e‐quality ,so they try to become british members in various forms ,hoping to integrate into its socie‐ty .But the reality is not optimistic as they expected .Human rights violation and even violence a‐gainst chinese immigrants do occur from time to time ,and chinese immigrants have been striving for fundamental human rights .Chinese immigrants’ human rights are less concerned in the UK , so they have to rely on the help from some NGOs and chinese community .The significance of a nation’s prosperity not only involves promoting the living standard of the domestic masses and their quality ,but also is embodied in the self‐protection awareness and capability of overseas chi‐nese groups .One’s destiny is closely related to the international status of his nation .In the bio‐logical chain of civilization and society ,the discourse power enough to defend oneself internation‐ally can be enjoyed and others’ respect can be truly earned only w hen great cultural development and prosperity have been promoted and overall cultural strength and competitiveness have been enhanced .
