从《西游记》人物设计上看主旨

论证了《西游记》过部小说里的向个主要人物的设计都是为了完成作的意图和意志，每个人物都有佛学寓意，都承担着实现小说主旨的使命。唐僧师徒五人被作用金、木、水、火、土五行学说构成五位一体，取其相生相胜之理；同时又把唐僧喻为“元神”，孙悟空喻为“心猿”，猪八戒喻为“情”，沙僧喻为“性”，白龙马喻为“意马”，主要原因是取佛学修炼的五个法门，意在通过心猿意马，性和情的改造，使得一心向佛的元神完成成佛大道。小说这种五位一体的人物形象设计，寄托着作企图改造社会，改造国民的理想。所以说《西游记》是一部主观性非常强，佛学倾向性非常明显的小说。

The Theme of Journey to the West as Reflected in the Design of the Main Characters

The main characters in Journey to the West are designed to show the author's intention and will, as each character is endowed with its Buddhistic significance and its mission of representing the theme.The five main characters are made a whole in the light of the five-element theory and the generation-inhibition doctrine.Meanwhile,the Tang Priest is compared to the Vital Spirit;Sun Wukong (Monkey) to the Heart-Ape;Zhu Bajie(Pig) to the Feelings;Friar Sand to the Nature; and the White-Dragon Horse to the Mind-Horse. The main reason is that in light of the five approaches to Buddhist practice,the success of the Vital Spirit who devotes himself to Buddhism and eventually becomes a Buddha, is achieved by virtue of the Heart-Ape and the Mind-Horse, and the transformation of the Nature and the Feelings.On the design of these characters is placed the author's ideal of transforming the society and the national character. Therefore ,this is a novel of strong intention and Buddhistic significance.
