| 摘 要： | 汉语的"是"和英语的"be"均为这两种语言中的高频词。汉语和英语属于不同的语系,但是,"是"和"be"在语法功能以及意义方面有相近之处,这表明两者有共性,且这种共性存在于它们所蕴涵的思想内容之中,体现了不同民族对认识世界的共同追求。另一方面,它们也有不同之处,它们的不同之处在于两种语系国家不同的哲学、文化传统、价值观、思维模式等对各自语言的发展产生了极大的影响。

| Abstract: | shi in Chinese and be in English are high-frequency words in these two languages. This paper makes a contrastive analysis of them from the viewpoints of form, grammatical function, sematics and pragmatics. The analysis shows that the similarities lie in and embody different peoples’pursuit of understanding the world and the differences between them are due to the influence of the differences in philosophy, cultural tradition, value, thinking pattern, and the like, upon their own languages. |
