As the largest foreign-born population in the Gulf,Indian workers have not only made important contributions to the socio-economic progress of the Gulf states,but also promoted the development of their home country India.They have remitted considerable amounts of money to their families in India,decreased the unemployment rate of India,stimulated India’s exports to the Gulf states,and reduced India’s trade deficit with the Gulf states for large amounts of oil-imports.In view of these effects,India is concerned about their living conditions very much,and has taken a series of measures to protect their legitimate rights and interests.
