| 摘 要： | 衡量进化的标准一直是含混不清的，一般说来复杂性和适应性是主要衡量标准。但这两个标准之间存在着不可避免的矛盾与冲突。以致许多人将进化理解为进步。乔治·威廉斯从伴随遗传信息的积累，伴随形态学上复杂性的增加，伴随生理学功能分化的不断增加，伴随某些任意规定方向上的进化趋势，伴随适应有效性的增加，这五个方面对“进化是进步”的观点进行了反驳。他提出的替代图示却也存在着难以克服的困难。进化应该放到系统中理解，“盖娅假说”为我们提供了很好的范例。突显进化中真实时间的重要性。进化不是累积性进步，而是信息处理方式的更迭。 |
