Thing adjectives which is one of the type of adjectives describe properties of persons or objects.They are generally linked with the words that signify objects.Based on the relation of semantics and grammar,this thesis mainly discusses semantic feature and semantic designation of thing adjectives as attribute and adverbial.Through investigations,thing adjectives mainly serve as attribute;their semantic features are regular and static.Sometimes they serve as adverbial,but they should be overlapped or transformed into another.The overlapping adjectives convey active meaning or accompanying state.No matter what they serve as,the semantic of thing adjectives designates persons or objects.
