| Abstract: | This paper argues that the analysis of clause structure is helpful for the understanding of English texts and the English-Chinese translation.An excellent translation combines the ontological meaning of words and clauses in texts（deep-level meaning） and cultural meaning（contextual meaning） in a uniform and effective way. |
