世纪之交看中华传统文化——北大部分理科学生对中华传统文化的思考

本文是作者根据生命科学院、力学与工程科学系 99级学生在“大学语文”课上所作的2 4 0篇作文整理的调查报告。文章反映了北大部分理科学生对于中华传统文化发展前景的认真思考。大家认为文化建设和科教兴国在中国现代化进程中具有同样重要的意义。中华民族应在继承和更新传统文化的基础上寻求发展。中华传统文化崇尚自然和谐的观念、积极进取的人生价值观以及重德向善的精神等 ,对于解决现代社会的道德危机和精神危机仍有深刻的现实意义。但传统文化中缺少理论分析思维 ,忽略平等自由和权利、官本位以及因循守旧意识等妨碍社会进步的成分则应加以“过滤”和“剔除”。传统文明必须新陈代谢 ,才能成为现代文明的重要组成部分

Glance at Chinese Traditional Culture at the Turn of the Century

This paper is based a study of 240 essays written by 99|grade undergraduate students of the departments of biology and mechanics in the class of !College Chinese at Peking University. It shows the serious thinking of most of the science students in this university about a vast range of prospect for the development of traditional Chinese culture. They believe that culture and science are of equal importance in the process of China's modernization. Chinese people will seek for further development on the base of inheritance and transformation of its traditional culture.
