多面人生──屈大均气节浅析

Aspects of Life: An Analysis of Qu Da-jun's Integrity

The best alternative for a scholar with perfect personality was to sacrifice his life for righteousness when his country was on the brink of being conquered. Facing the great historical diversion at the tum from the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, Qu Da-jun was at a loss what to do, and therefore he had to tum to Buddhism for survival just as most of the scholars at that time. This was also the same as the ordinary people who cherished their lives and sought for good results. But on the other hand, he made friends with so many patriots, visited a lot of historical palaces, and re- called the old sages of the past, then he found his disposition as an intellectual and gave up his belief Buddhism to be a real Confucian scholar. And he played an active role in the activities of reviving the Ming Dynasty against the Qing. He stood up whith all the sufferings of his later living and came to the end of his life quietly.
