跨文化交际能力模式在大学英语教学中的应用

摘    要:外语教学的最终目的是为了培养外语学习者的跨文化交际能力,外语教学应该包括文化教学,这点已经成为众多语言学家和外语教育工作者的共识。在语言教学中融入文化,提高学习者的跨文化交际能力是外语教学改革的必然趋势。然而,如何具体地、有效地在大学英语课堂中实施文化教学,提高学生的跨文化交际能力和文化学习意识,是外语教学尚未解决的问题。以英国学者Byram提出的跨文化交际能力培养模式为依据,对在校非英语专业大学生(一个英语自然班)进行了为期一学年的教学实践和有针对性的训练,实验结果印证了该模式在大学英语文化教学中的应用价值,为文化教学的实施提供了一种可行的模式。

Abstract:It is generally acknowledged that the purpose of foreign language education is to cultivate students' intercultural communicative competence. However,how to effectively cultivate students' intercultural communicative competence still remains a question in FLT. In order to cultivate non-English majors' intercultural communicative competence, a one-year intercultural training based on Byram' s Model of Intercultural Communicative Competence has been implemented at one college English classroom of Jiangsu University. The statistics show the effectiveness and value of this model in college English teaching. Thus, the model can be regarded as a workable model of implementing culture teaching at college English classroom.
