| Abstract: | This article discusses the cultural and human significance of seeking roots upsurge in contemporary African-American literature. Contemporary African American writers seek their cultural identity, and their common spiritual home through the excavation of their past history. The black history rewritten by the black writers greatly revises the main stream discourse and the traditional classic literature about black people. |
