Mozi's Economic Ethics and the Model of Market Economy

This article discusses Mozi's economic ethics including the principle of universal love and mutual benefit, acquisition of wealth through production and frugality, talents-esteemed standpoint, and emphasis on mental power instead of destiny. A comparison between Mozi with Adam Smith, the founder of market economic system theory, would lead to similarities as well as differences between them. It is concluded that Mozi's economic ethics is of referential value for the development of our socialist market economic system.
