中国传统的“道”范畴与西方“科学”范畴之比较

中国传统的“道”范畴 ,内含着“一”与“多”、“有”与“无”、“存”与“亡”、“好”与“劣”等人类对于一切存在的辩证的理解 ,具有极大的包容性 ,是人类智慧中至高的悟性。而西方之“科学”范畴 ,不过是之于自然界的办法、手段而已 ,是支离者也。当今“科学”何以能埋下毁灭人类地球的祸根 ?此乃天下皆以科学为美斯为丑矣之理。对“科学”的迷狂导致了“科学”被滥用、妄用和盗用等严重问题。自恃其有 ,所以无德 ;逞强气盛 ,因此失道。既认识到“科学”之美 ,又认识到“科学”之丑 ,方能超越“科学”之失和“科学”之不自由。求科学而不求道 ,使人类变得野蛮粗鲁、愚昧无知 ,持“科学”之人需要持“道”之人来启蒙。“全盘西化”乃去高就低、弃大适小、舍本逐末之行为 ,当弗为。

Comparison Between the Category of the Chinese Traditional "Tao" and That of the Western "Science

The category of the Chinese traditional Tao contains all the dialectical understanding and interpretation that human beings give to all the beings such "one" and "many","being" and "Not-being","exist" and "perish","good" and "bad" etc.It has very great capacity and tolerance with its supreme comprehension in human wisdom.The category of the Western science,which is only the means or methods used for natural world,is charateristic of fragmentation.Why can "science",at present,sow the seeds of misfortune which would destroy human beings?This is the reason why the world takes the science for beauty which is in fact ugliness.It is the fascination with "science" that leads to the gross error that science has been abused,misused,and embezzled.Someone who considers himself rich,for this reason,does something mean and parades his superiority and strives to outshine others;as a result,he loses justice and morality.Only when he is conscious of the ugliness of "science" as well as the beauty of "science",can he go beyond the loss of "science" and the limitation of "science".Seeking science but not for Tao makes human beings become rude and savage,ignorant and benighted.He who holds "science" should be enlightened by one who holds Tao.The "wholesale Westernization",which is to do away the better and come near the worse,to give up the big and fit in with the small,and to attend to trifles to the neglect of essentials,should be got rid of.
