| Abstract: | The Tang poetry and the Song poetry are the two major patterns of China's classical poetry which give rise to the controversy as to following the Tang poetry pattern or the Song poetry pattern in later dynasties. This kind of controversy takes its origin in the Jin dynasty. Mainly by following the clue, the essay discusses the development of poetry during the Jin and Yuan dynasties. The essay is the foreword of the book Notes on the Selected Poems in the Jin and Yuan Dynasties which is compiled by the author of the essay and will soon be published by People's Literary Press. In advance, it is published by this Journal with some parts omitted. |
