| Abstract: | Shanghai is a city whith long history, but it is also a young metropolis full of vitality. It has evoloed from a fishing village to the largest city in the later years of Qing Dynasty. Shanghai gets its name because the Huangpu River winds through the city. There are more than three dozens alternative names such as Shen, Hu, etc. and the names with special meanings. |
