作为南宋前期湖湘学派的著名学者,胡宏哲学的问题意识乃直接有见于杨时、谢良佐之学日益趋向于对内在主观意识之体悟和直觉而来,故而如何从体用兼赅的意义上理解儒学之大本达道,成为胡宏思考问题的核心.胡宏言万物皆备,言即物求道,及其言心性情欲之关系皆在此深沉的寄心.然而,由于胡宏对心、性问题的特殊了解,他所苦心构作的心性论在理论的逻辑上不期竟导致到松动儒家价值标准的客观性和确定性问题,以至湖湘学最后被朱子学所掩盖.

An Interpretation of Hu Hong''s Philosophy

Hu Hong was a famous scholar of Hunan school in the early Southern Song Dynasty. Associated with the philosophical ideas of Yang Shi and Xie Liang-zuo, Hu Hong''s philosophy focused on the understanding of the subjective consciousness and intuition as well as the nature of mind and character. Because his understanding of philosophy and its application as well as its theoretical logic expectedly weakened the foundation of Confucian values in terms of its objectivity and certainty, the theory of Hunan school was overshadowed by the upcoming Zhu-zi Doctrine.
