| 摘 要： | 按照清代制度,科举戒律森严。但因其为进身之阶,还是有很多人铤而走险。咸丰初年,条子关节之风已经盛行,大庭广众之中不以为讳。咸丰帝决心整顿,结果是上相弃市,士人满狱,震惊朝野,影响深远。有人认为此案系载垣等公报私仇,实际上完全由咸丰帝决断。

| Abstract: | There had been very strict rules concerning the imperial examination system in Qing dynasty. However, frauds did appear now and then as the imperial examination was then the only way for many people to start an official career. At the beginning of the reign of Xian Feng emperor, cheating was already common. Xian Feng emperor determined to change all this. As a result, many officials and examinees involved in the Examination Fraud of 1858 were killed or severely punished, shocking the whole country. Some have believed that the case was the result of prince Zai Yuan taking advantage of the occasion for his personal gains. Actually the whole case had been totally determined by Xian Feng emperor. |
