Mao Zedong Thought on Socialist Moral Education and Its Practice

After the foundation of the People's Republic of China, Mao Zedong proposed a series of views on socialist moral education suitable for the then Chinese situation: (i) to educate the people with the national, scientific and popular communist morality; (ii) to take the whole Party's style as the key link in the socialist moral education; (iii) to adopt moral examples and public opinions to stimulate the development of socialist moral education; and (iv) to take political reformation and mobilization as the essential conditions for socialist moral education. All the thoughts mentioned above got good practice in the socialist construction, gained significant effects in the society and exerted profound historical effects.
