On the Socialist Market Thought of Deng Xiaoping

On the basis of generalizing the historical experience of socialist construction and using for reference the way of advanced countries' developing social productive forces, Deng xiaoping had unremittingly explored how, in the socialist society, to deal with the relationship between plan and market, bringing forward the theory of socialist market economy. Deng xiaoping intended to seek how the social productive forces can be promoted effectively so that socialism can exert its intrinsic advantages. In the beginning, Deng xiaoping considered market economy to be means for organizing economy, and such words as plan, planned economy, planned regulation, market, market economy, market regulations to be synonyms.Theoretically, the socialist market economy theory of Deng Xiao-ping has, for the first time, eradicated the obsolete idea that both planned economy and market economy belong to system, which was unanimously acknowledged by the Marxism Economics and the West Economics. The ideology trammel has been shaken off radically that planned economy and market economy are within the category of fundamentally social system,which enabled us to have made creative breakthrough in the understanding of the relationship between plan and market, showing clearly the direction for constituting new economy system. The socialist market theory of Deng Xiaoping has solved such problem as what socialism is and how to construct socialism, greatly propelling forward Chinese economy and society as well.
