2 0 0 2年是明末杰出的思想家李贽逝世 4 0 0周年 ,他一生中对宋明理学进行了不屈不挠的学术批判 ,而有权有势的论敌对他却进行了一系列残酷的政治迫害 ,这就形成了李贽被迫害致死的悲剧。李贽至死也不明白真正推崇儒学的是那些将它作为统治工具的当时和历代的最高统治者 ,而绝不仅仅是理学家 ,这也是他的悲剧所在

Li Zhi's Tragedy

The year of 2002 sees 400 th anniversary of the death of Li Zhi,the noted thinker in the the late Ming Dynasty.In all his life,Li Zhi criticized dauntlessly the Neo-Confucianism of the Song,and the Ming Dynasties,so he was ruthlessly persecuted again and again by his opponents in debates.Eventually he died tragically of their persecutions.But till his death,Li Zhi had no idea that those who really praised highly Confucianism were not only the rationalists,but the supreme rulers of his dynasty and the past dynasties,using it as the ruling instruments.Herein lies Li's tragedy.
