"核心期刊":一个外来"文"种入侵、异化为害的典型事例——《"核心期刊"与期刊评价》读后

“核心期刊”的理论与实践均是外来“文”种入侵中国后发展、异化的产物。它所依据的“载文量”与“被引率”两大量化指标只不过具有文献计量学上的意义,并不反映期刊和期刊上所载文献(论文)的质量与水平,充其量只反映了某一专业、某一专题文献较为集中地分布于一些期刊上而已。这两项指标甚至连文献(论文)的好、坏、对、错都未能区分,所以它根本不能作为评刊、评文、评学、评人的质量或水平标准。

"Core Journal" :A Quintesscnce of Foreign" Academic Species" Invading and Dissimilating as a Calamity——Reading Professor QIAN Rong-gui's Core Journal and Journal Appraising

Both the theory and the practice of "core journal" are the results of foreign"academic species" propagating and dissimilating after its invading China.Although significant in the sense of bibliometrics,the two indexes of"paper quantity" and "quotation rate"cannot reflect the academic quality and level of the papers published in the core journals.They,at most,indicate that some papers on a certain field or topic are collectively published in these journals.The two indexes,however,are unable to discriminate papers/bibliographies between good and bad,and between right and wrong,thus they cannot serve as the standards of appraising a journal,a paper,academic level and even a scholar at all.It is the time to call the end of "core journal" calamities in China.
