The joint exploration progress for Chinese - characteristic democracy by the Communist Party of China （CPC） and China Democratic League （CDL） is generally divided into three stages. During the New Democratic Revolution Period, CPC and CDL find more and more common grounds concerning Chinese - characteristic democracy, so much so that CDL gets continually inclined to CPC till a complete acceptance of CPC＇ s leadership. During the Reform and Opening -up Period, CDL actively assists CPC to implement socialistic political and institutional re- forms, with their beneficially joint explorations and struggles. History has well proved that it is the political pursuit and struggle target of both CPC and CDL to explore Chinese - characteristic democracy, and their joint struggle will inevitably promote and im- prove China＇ s democratic political construction.
