Since 1970s, Australian government have carried out the policy of "Facing Asia",which is mainly due to econmic reasons. The Australian economic characteristics and the change of the world economic relationship between Australia and Asian countries,especially the nations of Northeast and Southeast of Asia, can account for the origin and the evolution of the policy of " Facing Asia ".
