The theories of Bendichuiji and anti-Bendichuiji, and the radical theory of anti-Bendichuiji constitute the three different attitudes and methods that ancient Japan reacted to foreign religious thoughts and cultures and reflect its different values. They reveal the progress of religious and cultural development in Japan and provide us a useful viewpoint to understand how Japan treated the relationship between its indigenous culture and foreign cultures.
