吐蕃自松赞干布统一以后,就频繁和唐朝交往。这期间有和平的交往,也有战争的交往,但对于总体实力弱于唐朝的吐蕃来说,战争交往理应对吐蕃不利,但事实是吐蕃采取了各种针对唐朝的措施对唐进行进扰,包括在作战的季节选择上都针对唐军的弱点进行了长久的战争,并取得了较明显的效果,季节对唐蕃之间的战争是有很大影响的。

A Textual Research on the Seasons of Tang-vassal Wars in Imperial Book Repository Large Turtle and Old Tang Book

After Songtsan Gampo had unified Tibet, the relationship between Tang Dynasty and Tibet was not always peaceful even though the latter was inferior to Tang Dynasty in overall strength and obviously wars were unfavorable to it. But in fact Tibet still adopted various strategies to assault Tang Dynasty and even achieved some effects, for instance, by launching the wars at the seasons that were disadvantageous to Tang armies. So seasons were a very crucial factor in the Tang-vassal wars.
