从EPP原则到EPP特征——生成语法语言研究中的最简主义解读

EPP原则是管约论内主要语法模块之一；简约论内有关EPP特征及其句法功能的诸多设想，实际上是EPP原则的延伸和更高概括，EPP原则实际上是C选择T时的EPP特征的具体句法实现。语段理论下，无解的EPP特征本身并不驱动句法操作，只会影响语言输出产生的语义或语用效果：EPP特征属于可选特征，受语段中心语的固有特征决定，没有相应的配对物，既不属于目标的有解特征，又是功能语类的可选的无解特征，因此不足以使功能语类成为探针，只为移动的NP提供着落点，给语段中心语的无解特征赋值，最终对语言输出施加语义或语用等影响。

From EPP principle to EPP feature-- Interpreting minimalism in the language study in Generative Grammar

The EPP principle is one of the major grammar inodules in GB theory. In the minimalist program framework, assumptions about the EPP feature and its syntactic fimctions are practically the extensions and higher abstraction of this principle that is actually the syntactic realization of the feature when C selects T. In the more recent probe - goal theory,, the unin- terpretable EPP feature itself does not motivate any syntactic operation, only exerting influences on output of the semantic or pragmatic interpretations： the EPP feature is optional, determined by inherent features of the phase head; it does not have any matching associate, nor is it an interpretable feature of the goal; it is merely an optional and uninterpretable feature of the CFCs, hence it can not make any CFC a probe. Its primary role is to provide a landing site for the moved NP and value aninterpretable featnres of the CFCs, ultimately exerting effects on semantic or pragmatic interpretations in the language output.
