英语类指的分类及其语法功能的认知解释

论及英语里的指称现象，结合有定性（有定和无定）与数（单数和复数）构成的两个维度，重点给在英语中形成的类指识解分成四类，即：无定单数类指、无定复数类指、有定单数类指、有定复数类指。并尝试从认知的视角对各种类指手段的语法功能作出解释。

Types of English Generic Reference and the Cognitive Explanations to Their Grammatical Functions

Reference, as a grammatical device, is discussed in this paper, which highlights the classification of generic reference. With the two dimentions of definiteness （definite and indefinite） and number （singular and plural）, four kinds of generic reference are formed in English, i.e. indefinite singular generic, indefinite plural generic, definite singular generic and definite plural generic. This paper also tries to expound the grammatical function（s） of each under the cognitive perspective.
