The horse images were adopted most frequently in Dufu's poems. From the view of traditional motifs, Dufu expressed his heroic affection and frustration in political areas with the image of horse. Through different stages of creation, there were inner contacts between poet's vision and horse images. The various images of horse were not only the epitomes of the poet's life but also his seeking for ideal. Particularly the "ill horse", "old horse", "thin horse" etc. enriched the themes of horse culture.
