"照着讲"与"接着讲"——一个思想方法的现代诠释

"Repeating Narration" and "Carrying- on Narration": A Contemporary Annotation on Method of Thinking

Feng You-lan' s idea in substance is not novel compared with that of the other New Confucianists. However, the key reason that people pay full attention to his New Confucian School of Idealist Philosophy lies in his method of thinking. Strictly speaking, Repeating Narration, a superlogical, superintellectual and enlightenment-attaining way, is only studying history and not doing scholarly research, with embodiment of traditional Chinese way of thinking and without pioneering spirit and blazing new trials. " Carrying-on Narration" stressing the logical analysis and scientific argument negates " Repeating Narration" . Feng You-lan' s most important contribution to modern Chinese thinking history is a new way he has created, "True -metaphysics" , which suitably links "Repeating Narration" with "Carrying on Narration" . The New Confucian School of Idealist Philosophy based on this new way won great reputation for Feng You-lan, and what' s more, added scientific connotation and meaning to the study and development of modern Chinese thinking history.
