Artistic Creation from Combination of Feeling and Sense——LI Chang-zhis Literary Criticism

In the modem history of literary criticism, LI Chang-zhi is a critic of unique style. On one hand, he favors ＂criticism of the feelings＂ , thinking that literary criticism should always work with emotion as the center; on the other hand, he holds the idea that overexpression of feeling doesnt work against sense. In his view, literary criticism should always be ups and downs of feeling and sense. Therefore, LI Chang-zhi is neither an impressionistic critic nor a sensible critic, but a combination of feeling and sense and consequently a surpassing integration. There is no doubt that this concept of criticism has great significance for the construction of modern literary criticism.
